Knights Show Resolve in Upset of Top Dogs
By Carl Bancoro
Last
October 3, 2013, the volleyball match for the battle for third for the high
school division was conducted. It was a match between two teams that suffered
painful defeats from the semifinals – the Top Dog Commandos of 3rd year-
Humility and the Hermes Knights of Grade 8- Obedience.
During
the first set, both teams tried to get their game plan followed but didn’t
succeed. They both fought tooth-and-nail for points until the Knights caught
the Top Dogs off guard and took control of the first set with the score of
15-11.
When
the second set began, the Knights showed more resolve against their opponent
while the Top Dogs were feeling the effects of fielding only six players that
match, which
meant
no substitutions from the start to end for them. The Knights took over the
games using the advantage of members. They stormed to a great start and never
looked back so they won the second set taking the third place with them.
